Before we proceed, please provide us with the concentration of iron and manganese in your water. This information can be obtained through a simple test. The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the following standards for iron and manganese levels in water: Iron ≤ 0.3mg/L, Manganese ≤ 0.1mg/L.
Iron and Manganese Concentration:
- If Iron < 2.0mg/L and Mn < 2mg/L: Aeration (using a blast pump or air compressor) is recommended. If the pH is low, adjust it accordingly. A single iron removal filter will be sufficient.
- If Iron ≥ 5mg/L and Mn ≥ 1.5mg/L: First, aeration is required, followed by a double iron removal filter. The first filter will remove iron, and the second filter will remove manganese.
- If Iron ≥ 10mg/L and Mn ≥ 2mg/L: In this case, the pH of the well water should be greater than 5.5. We recommend discussing your specific needs with our engineers to customize the design.
Iron and Manganese Removal Process:
