Reverse osmosis water treatment is a membrane separation technology that uses pressure difference as the driving force to separate impurities from pure water through reverse osmosis membranes. Reverse osmosis membranes have selective permeability, allowing water molecules to pass through while blocking impurities such as ions, organic matter, and bacteria, thereby achieving the purpose of purifying water .

The basic principle of reverse osmosis technology is to apply operating pressure on the feed water (concentrated solution) side to overcome the natural osmotic pressure, allowing water molecules to pass through the membrane to become the product water, while impurities are retained on the feed water side of the membrane to form concentrated water. Reverse osmosis membrane desalination rate is usually greater than 98%, can effectively remove dissolved solids, organic matter, bacteria, etc. in water .
