When iron and manganese are present in the water, please inform us of the concentration levels (test results required). The World Health Organization (WHO) standard for iron is ≤ 0.3mg/L and for manganese is ≤ 0.1mg/L.
If iron is < 2.0mg/L and manganese is < 2mg/L, the suggested method is aeration (using a blast pump or air compressor). Adjust the pH if it is low and use a single iron removal filter.
If iron is ≥ 5mg/L and manganese is ≥ 1.5mg/L, the suggested method is aeration followed by double iron removal filters. The first filter removes iron, and the second filter removes manganese.
If iron is ≥ 10mg/L and manganese is ≥ 2mg/L, and the pH is > 5.5, a customized design is required. Please consult with our engineers.
