When iron and manganese are present in your water, it is important to know the concentration of these elements. Please provide us with the test results indicating the concentration of iron and manganese in the water.
WHO Standards:
If the concentration of iron is less than 2.0mg/L and manganese is less than 2.0mg/L, we suggest using aeration (using a blast pump or air compressor) and adjusting the pH if it is low. A single iron removal filter can be used.
If the concentration of iron is greater than or equal to 5.0mg/L and manganese is greater than or equal to 1.5mg/L, we recommend starting with aeration and then using a double iron removal filter. The first filter removes iron, and the second filter removes manganese.
If the concentration of iron is greater than or equal to 10.0mg/L and manganese is greater than or equal to 2.0mg/L, and the pH of the well water is greater than 5.5, it is necessary to discuss the design with an engineer to customize the solution.
