When you find iron and manganese in the water, please inform us about the concentration of iron and manganese in the water (the test result will indicate).
WHO Standard: Iron ≤ 0.3mg/L, Manganese ≤ 0.1mg/L.
If the iron concentration is less than 2.0mg/L and manganese concentration is less than 2.0mg/L, we suggest using aeration (using a blast pump or air compressor) and adjusting the pH if it is low. A single iron removal filter will be sufficient.
If the iron concentration is greater than or equal to 5.0mg/L and manganese concentration is greater than or equal to 1.5mg/L, we recommend starting with aeration, followed by a double iron removal filter. The first filter will remove iron, and the second filter will remove manganese.
If the iron concentration is greater than or equal to 10.0mg/L, manganese concentration is greater than or equal to 2.0mg/L, and pH is greater than 5.5, it is recommended to discuss with our engineer for a customized design.
Here is the suggested flow for the system:
Aeration iron removal is currently the most mature and cost-effective method for removing iron and manganese. We build an aeration tank and use an aeration blower to oxidize the ferrous iron in the water to ferric iron. After the ferric iron is precipitated, it can be removed by a manganese sand filter. Finally, an activated carbon filter is used to remove the color, ensuring the product water meets the required standards.
