According to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards, the maximum allowable concentration of iron is 0.3mg/L, and manganese is 0.1mg/L.

 

Based on the concentration levels, here's what we recommend:

 

• If the iron concentration is less than 2.0mg/L and manganese is less than 2.0mg/L, we suggest using aeration to remove the iron. Adjusting the pH if necessary, and using a single iron removal filter.


• If the iron concentration is 5mg/L or higher and manganese is 1.5mg/L or higher, we recommend a two-step process. Start with aeration to oxidize the ferrous iron, followed by a double iron removal filter to remove both iron and manganese.


• If the iron concentration is 10mg/L or higher and manganese is 2mg/L or higher, we advise discussing with our engineers to customize the design for your specific needs.
